Whether you are trying to sell a product via some form of affiliate marketing program, of you are just promoting your own bricks and mortar business, one way you can get traffic to your website is to start writing articles online.
 

How does putting articles on the web help you out? Writing submissions actually helps you in many ways, primarily by getting your name, your blog or website, and your product to the top of the search engines. The more places you appear online, the more popular you become, the more likely it is that you will appear at the top of the results page.

Article promotion also allow you to establish a sense of authority on a particular subject. If you are selling a marketing program, then you should be writing articles online that help to establish a trusted reputation for both you and your product. These articles should be grounded in facts and meaty content, so that people will come back to them over time. These articles will also, of course, serve as links to a page where you sell your product.
 

These articles should always have your name (or at least your penname), numerous mentions of your product and website, and should be distributed as widely as possible. Once you have done that, do it again, and again. Re-write the articles, give them different titles and change the content, and re-submit. This will help you get more content out there quicker, and get you noticed.
 

The articles you write will not be your only marketing efforts, of course. They are to be used in addition to blogging regularly, keeping your website up-to-date, and establishing mutual links. You will also want to submit your blog and website to as many submission sites as possible so that you receive continual traffic.
