Keywords Suggestion Techniques That Work
One of the keys to a successful online marketing campaign is getting the right people to come to your site. This sounds obvious, but it is one of the steps that most people forget about. They spend all their time developing or choosing a product to sell, building a spectacular website, and even spend months writing articles or a blog about their product. But, if people don’t know you are there, then all the writing in the world will not do you any good. Before you take the time to write articles (or pay for others to do it for you), and submit them to all the search engines, make sure that the keywords suggestion you are giving the engines is truly correct for your product.
Figuring out what your keywords suggestion should be is not always that easy, and usually comes with a lot of trial and error. Let’s take an example – I have a friend who sells a swimming product, one that is used by fitness swimmers to get stronger. Only someone who swims regularly would understand the importance of this product or ever use it. Yet, when my friend chose his keywords, he chose “learn to swim” as one of them. Well, no one who is searching for “learn to swim” would ever want or need his product.
In this case, he had paid for his keywords suggestion and that mistake cost him a lot of money. He could have chosen words like “swim for fitness”, “triathlon”, “phelps”, or “lap swim” and would have gotten a lot more quality leads.
The lesson is that when you are choosing your keywords, make sure that they fit not only the genre of your product, but the particular niche, or you will end up paying for visitors who have no intention of buying at all.

Hi Kim,
Definitely right on with the importance of keywords. Unless you’re Seth Godin, you’ll need targeted keywords to be indexed and searched by websurfers. Keep up the great tips!
