What Is Squidoo Marketing?
Over the years, we have seen a lot of new technology on the web, and new ways to advertise products that are sold. First there was the simple website. Then, there was pay-per-click advertising on sites such as Google and Yahoo. Affiliate programs sprung up which enabled us all to sell products that we never had to own or send. That was followed closely by social media sites such as Myspace, Facebook, and Linked in, and now Twitter has entered the field. The newest form of media to spring up is Squidoo marketing.
If you haven’t been to Squidoo, it is sort of hard to explain why or how it is different than actually having your own website, but it is. Squidoo marketing uses the term “lens” to describe a webpage. So, if you have built a few lenses, you have built individual pages that reflect something about you or your product. The are currently over 1,000,000 lenses on Squidoo, which attests to the power of Squidoo marketing.
At this time, because it is a new technology, I certainly wouldn’t put all my eggs in one basket with Squidoo, but you can use it to supplement all of the additional online marketing that you are doing. In fact, if you have already built a website, a blog, or written articles, then you can simply replicate them on Squidoo to get double the impressions online.
The first thing you need to do is join Squidoo and create a basic lens about you and your product. The more lenses you create, the greater your presence will be. Get started on it quickly before the names and subject matter are all taken, and you may find that you can drive a little bit of traffic to your site without a lot of extra work.
