Let’s be realistic, when you started your business, did you forget about the marketing costs involved?
You certainly can’t buy a pizza franchise and not buy the cheese, right?
OK, If I can clear up one thing in this industry, it is that you need very little money for marketing, obviously depending on what you decide as far as marketing goes.
It is funny because I actually had an argument with someone on Facebook about this topic. This woman was on the same team as my first network marketing company (So, I know what they are teaching as far as marketing goes and trust me, it was grueling!) and I was telling her that you don’t need any money for marketing to sponsor people in your business. She flat out disagreed with me. Now, keep in mind that she had to quit this company because she ran out of money, but was determined to go back to the same person that was helping her. OK, so if this person was such a big help, then why was she so unsuccessful that she had to quit in the first place…doesn’t make sense to me, but sorry, I digress.
She really got mad at me and all I was doing was trying to help her and to try to have her realize that there was a better way to market her business that what she was doing (because that wasn’t working for her). She got really mad at me and finally I just unfriended her because all I was doing was wasting my time trying to help someone that just doesn’t want to be helped. Now, I am not saying that my way is the best, but it was giving her an option of not having to spend money on her marketing and I was trying to help her for free.
If you decide to pursue free marketing strategies, which you really should starting out, there are many choices you have:
Social Media
You can start to market on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and My Space. Word of Caution on these sites: Do not even think about plastering your company website all over these sites because people will not only ignore it AND these sites will close your account. On these sites, you simply want to connect with people. Start a conversation just like you would with a close friend. Believe it or not people really open up with you! Do not talk about your business, unless they ask you about it. And trust me, if you have a good conversation going, they will!
Forum Marketing
You can go on Forums specifically for network marketers and if someone has a question, then you can help them by answering it. If people like your answer, this builds your credibility and people will be curious to see what you do. In forums, they have what is called a signature line, it is here that you will place your website link. If a person is curious enough, they will click on it and check you out. A friend of mine ‘hangs’ out on a XYZ company spam site (she is apart of the XYZ company) and if anyone poses a question about the company, she answers it. She doesn’t try to recruit anyone and because of that she gets a lot of signups from it! Funny how that works, isn’t it.
Article Marketing
Creating articles are a great way to get leads, but you have to offer value and answer the question of your title. This article that you are reading is an example of an article that creates value by answering the question of, “Can you generate free leads online?” You can post this article on a Ezine site, like articlesbase.com or the most popular ezinearticles.com. If you do your keyword research right, you can turn up in Google searches also.
At the end of your article, you will have a resource box. It is here that you would enter your ‘call to action.’ So, after the reader is done reading the article, what do you want them to do? Visit a website? If so, then you would say something like, ‘if you are looking to learn more about generating 20+ free leads daily online, visit, www.xyz.com.’ Important: Make sure your website is a lead capture page so you can collect the names and email addresses of people that visit your site so you can follow up with them.
