When I first got started in network marketing, I was told to purchase expensive leads and cold call them. I hated it! I hated it so much that I stopped doing it! So, what happened as a result, my business didn’t grow. I knew I need education and to find a mentor to show me exactly how do to internet marketing.

Unfortunately, I have seen Ignite Energy reps spam the heck out of people on Facebook. They would post their company website on their friends’ wall. This is not effective marketing. If it is done too much, Facebook will shut down your account.
Being a resident of PA, I get bombarded from reps wanting me to become their customer, but the message was always the same and no one stood out from anyone else. So, say I received about 50 emails all from people wanting to become a customer, all giving me the same website, the only difference is the name on it, what would make me choose one over the other? No one stood out from the crowd and as a result, I didn’t become a customer of any of them!

Who did I become a customer of, a friend that I had met online months ago. Because I already knew he was a cool guy, I allowed him to educate me on exactly what energy deregulation was and because he took the time to do this (quite frankly, he only sent me a simple email regarding the topic), I became a customer of his.
I know that I wanted to become a customer, I was just looking for the right person to join. I was looking for someone that respected me as a person and not someone trying to sell me on something. People don’t like to be sold, they like to do business with people they know like and trust. And that is the person you need to become if you are looking to build this business online. You need to build a relationship with people online first, then ask for the sale.
