I would add another qualifier like perhaps, would you be interested in a side opportunity that you can try for $100, in just two hours a week, that can make $1,000 a month, that wouldn’t conflict with your regular job?
If they have a problem with a $100 investment (or whatever it is) or two hours a week, it’s best to learn that up front.
I would also suggest NOT approaching friends and neighbors. It’s easy to make money. It’s harder to make a friend.
